"It is unfair for the ministry..." (One more way we put you first)

Hey Reader,

When I was preparing to launch The Uncommon Pursuit Academy, one question I had was how to handle refunds.

Some online course creators don't offer refunds. They feel that it's too much trouble, maybe they're running a scam, or they worry about being taken advantage of. Perhaps they've had people sign up, download all their material, then demand their money back.

So, I asked a social media expert what she thought about my decision to offer a ninety-day, no-questions-asked refund.

She said it was "unfair for the ministry."

Why? She said people would take advantage of me. I had asked for advice, so I took some time to consider her point!

Ultimately, I decided to keep the ninety-day refund policy.

After all, what's my worst-case scenario? Someone learns about Jesus for free?

I can live with that. In fact, our donors can, too! If you need a scholarship, you can request one.

More importantly, I want you to have complete peace of mind when deciding whether to join.

If you enjoy my free content, I'm confident you'll love the premium experience of the Academy:

  • Carefully organized material - over three hundred lessons in eleven courses
  • Interactive discussions with likeminded Christians
  • Expert moderation
  • Clear explanation of academic scholarship
  • Practical insights for living as a Christian
  • For Lifetime Members, a 1x1 call with me to discuss anything you want about your relationship with God

But let's say you sign up and realize this isn't a good fit. I want you to be happy.

Just let me know if it wasn't for you at any time in the three months after registering, and you'll get a complete refund.

It's that simple.

So what are you waiting for?

For this week only, to celebrate our launch, register for the annual plan and get an additional $25 off your first year:

gratefully,

Carson

What do the strongest, healthiest, and even happiest disciples of Jesus have in common with each other? Go ahead, take your best guess. Seriously, think about it. Write your answer down. If you just keep reading to get the answer, you'll miss out. ... ... Did you write your answer down yet? ... ... Ok, what did you say? They regularly read their Bibles? Or maybe you chose "an active prayer life"? Another good guess would be "goes to church every week." Hopefully you said, "They're an active...

Hi Reader, On Tuesday, I gathered with Uncommon Pursuit's Community Partners to discern how we would respond to God's love this year. To my delight, we felt prompted to focus on how God transforms us into Christlikeness This is particularly gratifying because I decided not to suggest any agenda items. Yet, what the group wanted to do is 100% aligned with the focus of my Major Project that I am working on for my Doctor of Ministry degree! So here's what it looks like... Drumroll, please......

Hey, On Friday, November 12, 2021, I launched Uncommon Pursuit with a mix of hope and hesitation. I was still recovering from the RZIM debacle, and I wondered: Can I invest my heart into loving and serving people again? It felt uncomfortable, but I knew it would be better to risk having my heart broken again than to give up on telling people about Jesus. Three years later, I'm amazed by what God has done through our community: 12,000+ posts on 1,700 different topics 6,000+ free copies of "12...
